Help, from the person behind the app.
The HarvRealtor app keeps your move in one place, from the homes you tour to the offers on your home and the dates of your escrow, with calculators, market data, and my buyer's and seller's guides alongside. HarvRealtor is free on the App Store® for iPhone®, iPad®, and iPod touch®. There is no support department behind it. There is me, Harv Balu, and I answer my own phone and email.
The questions people actually ask
How does home search work?
Search listings, under My Move, brings together my MLS connected home search, featured homes, and email alerts, and each one opens on harvrealtor.com in the browser. Saved searches and alerts live on that site, separate from the tour notebook and everything else you keep in the app.
Do the calculators send my numbers anywhere?
No. The mortgage, affordability, property tax, closing cost, and HELOC calculators all run on your device. Your inputs are remembered on the device only, so the numbers are there when you come back, and they are never transmitted.
Where does the market data come from?
Today's Report and mortgage rates come from the same data feeds that power my market reports, and the market screens are built from a daily MLS export. Each screen fetches fresh numbers when you open it. If a number still looks wrong, tell me. I would rather fix a feed than let a bad number stand.
Can I read the blog in the app?
Yes, every post reads right inside the app, and the words read offline. The pictures in a post load when you have a connection.
How do I zoom a picture in a post or a report chart?
Tap the picture to open it full screen, then pinch or double-tap to zoom, and swipe to the next one. Drag it down or tap the X to close. The charts in Today's Report open the same way.
What does the app collect about me?
Only what you type into the two forms, a message to me or a home evaluation request, and both go straight to my email so I can respond. No account, and no analytics or advertising in the app's own code. Your tour notebook, offers, and dates stay on your device. The full policy is one tap away below.
Where is Settings?
Tap the gear at the top of Home, or open Contact and choose Settings. That is where you export or erase what you keep in My Move, and where you can email me for help with the app.
How do I export or erase what I keep in My Move?
Open Settings and look under Your data. Export My Move gathers your homes, notes, saved places, timelines, offers, and showings into one file, without the photos, and you choose where it goes. Erase everything in My Move removes all of it from your device, photos included, and cancels its reminders. That cannot be undone. Your calculator inputs, your theme, and any events you already added to your calendar stay where they are.
Something not working?
Tell me what you tapped, and I will fix it.
If a screen looks wrong, a number will not load, or the app misbehaves in any way, send me a note with your iPhone or iPad model and what you were doing when it happened. A screenshot helps. Most fixes ship as an update through the App Store.
